Care and Maintenance of your Aerator By following the proper maintenance program you will maximize the life and performance of your aerator. Weekly Maintenance Add 1/ 2 cup of household bleach to the aerator. This will help keep bacteria growth to a minimum. Bi-Monthly Cleaning 1. Shut off main valve going to the house. 2. Shut off power to the well pump or unplug the well-pump. 3. Add ONE gallon of pool strength chlorine to the tank. Using a broom or soft brush, clean the sides and bottom of the tank. This will remove any residue that has built up in the tank. 4. Open the drain at the bottom of the Aerator (Using a pool hose) drain the water away from the grass and/or plants. 5. After the water has all been drained, turn the power back on. This will rinse the remaining residue from the tank. 6. Replace the cap on the drain and fill with water. 7. When filling the tank check the spray heads and clean as needed. 8. When the tank has refilled, open the valve to the house. Note: Chlorine treated water should not be allowed to run onto your lawn or plants. This service is available through Aqua Care... see basic or bi-monthly service. |
